At the age of 17 in 2010 he auditioned for the seventh season on X Factor. He was able to impress the judges. However he along with Louis Tomlinson, Harry Styles, Liam Payne and Niall Horan was put together to form a band – One Direction. Though the Band came third yet they were able to gain a huge fan following. Their was music was selling right out and they soon became one of the most popular band of mainstream.

Zayn like other members had a huge role in the success of 1D. Unlike other members of One Direction, Zayn malik is of mixed heritage. Though its not a problem now as he is a big star but Zayn once said in an interview that he had to move from one school to another just because he was not able to fit in due to his mixed heritage. Zayn have around 12 million followers on twitter. He is known for his singing and other than that his fan admire him for his smile, eyes and messy hairstyle. Zayn has never tried long hairs.
